For years I had tried everything to lose weight – joined gym, Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. Whatever was out there, I tried it. The most I ever lost was 30 pounds, and I would gain it all back. I was a serious diabetic. I had vision problems, neuropathy, and headaches. I had young children but I couldn’t enjoy them the way I knew I should be able to because I was so tired all the time. I rarely went out. I knew something had to change. The decision to have weight loss surgery was one of the best things I ever did. If I could go back in time and do it earlier, I would. I lost 89 pounds and my diabetes is gone. The neuropathy is gone. All my medical problems have evaporated. It’s not just health that changed for the better! Now, I fit into a size 4 from a size 14. People treat me differently. I don’t know if it’s because of the weight or because of the way I carry myself now. Losing the weight made me feel good about myself. It’s just an amazing feeling to be able to extend your life in a way you never thought was possible.
