Dr. Boulay attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, and continued her training with a surgical residency at Columbia University Medical Center. At Columbia, she trained under several nationally known laparoscopic surgeons, and was involved in more than 350 laparoscopic cases. In the final year of her surgical residency, Dr. Boulay was appointed to the position of Administrative Chief Resident.
Dr. Boulay currently practices at Overlook Hospital, affiliated with the Atlantic Health System, in Summit, New Jersey. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons (ASBS) and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). Dr. Boulay also has an active interest in biomedical research. Prior to her medical training, Dr. Boulay was a biomedical engineer. Her specialties included biomedical implants and artificial organs, for which she holds a patent. Dr. Boulay also completed a post-doctoral research fellowship, performing research on the effects of laparoscopic surgery on the immune system.
