Dr. Glenn Forrester is the newest member of the New Jersey Bariatric
Center team.
A graduate of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a bachelor’s
degree in biology, Dr. Forrester earned his medical degree from St. George’s
University in Grenada, West Indies. Afterward, he completed a six-year
surgical residency at the combined program of Our Lady of Mercy and Lincoln
Medical Centers in the Bronx, NY. His fourth year of residency was
devoted to clinical research in bariatric surgery under Dr. Julio Teixeira
at Montefiore Medical Center. Notably, Dr. Forrester was the recipient
of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Resident Achievement Award
for his program in 2007.
Following graduation from his residency, Dr. Forrester gained further
clinical experience at an American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric
Surgery approved fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Bariatric and General
Surgery at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY. During
his fellowship, Dr. Forrester worked in the emerging field of Single Incision
Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS), as well as was part of one of the first surgical
teams to perform this type of surgery through the use of flexible endoscopy.
Dr. Forrester is board certified and a member of the American Society
of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgeons (ASMBS), the Medical Society of
