What Am I Eating? Trader Joe’s Grilled Lemon Pepper Chicken
I’m an avid Trader Joe’s shopper and have recently stumbled across their “heat and serve” lemon pepper grilled chicken. I especially like it in the summertime when it’s too hot to stand in front of the grill. This chicken is pre-packaged with two chicken breasts in it, all you need to do is heat and plate them! This product comes in two flavors: balsamic vinegar and rosemary, and lemon pepper. When you are low on time but still want lean protein in your meal, this is a good choice.
For a typical 3oz serving of chicken, there are 100 calories, 1/2 grams of carbohydrates, and 17/18 grams of protein (depending on which flavor you chose). Protein is an essential part of any diet but sometimes we don’t always have a lot of time to prepare various protein options. I like to have high protein foods readily available for when I need to make a quick meal.
Each packet has 4 servings per container, making it a great option for feeding a family or meal prepping for yourself. Throw it on a plate with some roasted veggies and you have a great dinner option. Or cut the chicken up and throw it on top of a salad for lunch. There are endless meal ideas that you can do with this basic staple in the fridge. Overall, it is a great product to have on hand to keep you on track and consuming high protein meals.
