Gastric Balloon
The gastric balloon is a non-surgical weight loss procedure designed for patients with a body mass index (BMI) between 30-40, and is a weight loss option for people who do not qualify for or do not want surgery.
The gastric balloon helps you lose weight by taking up space in your stomach so you eat less and feel full. During the 6 months that the gastric balloon system is in place, you work with your New Jersey Bariatric Center doctors and registered dietitians to establish healthier eating and lifestyle habits that will further your weight loss. After the gastric balloons are removed, you will continue with 6 more months of personalized counseling to maintain your weight loss.

Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG)
The endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty is designed for patients with a BMI between 30 and 40 who either do not qualify for weight loss surgery or would prefer to take a nonsurgical approach to weight loss. This is a reversible procedure that can be performed endoscopically, by inserting a thin instrument into your throat and esophagus, in a surgical center.
How It Works
An ESG is performed by inserting a thin instrument into the throat that stitches part of the stomach and alters the anatomy of the stomach for weight loss. This allows for more weight loss than diet and exercise alone and is less invasive than surgery. Patients will meet with their doctor and registered dietitian for personalized counseling regularly to monitor their weight loss.

Endoscopic Gastric Bypass Revision (EGR)
The endoscopic gastric bypass revision is for patients who have previously had gastric bypass surgery and their pouch or stomach opening has stretched leading to weight gain.
How It Works
The EGR is a minimally invasive procedure done under general anesthesia. It is performed by a surgeon by inserting a thin tool into your throat and into your esophagus in a surgical center. During the procedure the stomach or stomach opening is stapled to reduce its size thus making you feel full and satisfied with less food.
