REVISION SURGERY

After failing to lose weight with LAP-BAND®, I knew I needed to make a change. I had been overweight my entire life. I really can’t remember a time while growing up that I was not overweight. Before lap band surgery, I tried diet pills and fasting but nothing worked and I hated the way I looked in the mirror.

When I didn’t find success with my original procedure, I found Dr. Goyal from New Jersey Bariatric Center. He explained that the gastric sleeve was more effective at weight loss than the LAP-BAND® so I decided to go with that procedure. Once he removed the band and performed the gastric sleeve surgery, I started dropping the weight. I’ve lost 94 lbs since my revision surgery.

Dr. Goyal and his staff are amazing. They are like my personal cheerleaders. Alexis, the physician assistant, has been wonderful.She reminds me that I have made huge strides and that I should not be hard on myself if I have an off day because I am moving in the right direction. Their support has made all the difference in the world. I have changed mentally as well as physically. My self-esteem has risen and I am so proud of the work I put into my body and my results. I am so happy I made the decision to get revision surgery. Since then I love that I can now walk up the stairs without feeling like I can’t catch my breath. I am so much healthier now.

Not only would I recommend New Jersey Bariatric Center, I already have. I am living proof that my revision surgery plus the lifestyle changes that I made, works. I know that if i had not gotten the surgery, I would have never gotten this far in my weight loss journey.
