Find Out if you Qualify for Bariatric Surgery or Weight Loss Medication with A BMI Calculation
Find out if you qualify for bariatric surgery or non-surgical weight loss by calculating your BMI.
Calculating your Body Mass Index, or BMl, is the first step to find out if you are a candidate for weight loss with bariatric surgery, including the gastric sleeve or gastric bypass procedures, or weight loss medications.
At New Jersey Bariatric Center®, we use a BMI calculator to quickly find out a person’s BMI. You can too, use the BMI Calculator or the math formula below.
Once you know your BMI, the next step is to meet with one of the New Jersey Bariatric Center®’s bariatric surgeons and doctors who will work with you to evaluate which weight loss option, from bariatric surgery to medical weight loss, is best for you. During the evaluation, our bariatric surgeons will discuss your overall health and your weight loss goals.
Ready to Find Out Your BMI? There are two ways to calculate it:
1. Complete the Math
A BMI is a math calculation. Divide your weight in pounds by your height in inches, then multiply it by 703. The answer is your BMI.
BMI = (weight in pounds / height in inches) x 703
2. Use NJBC's BMI Calculator
Enter your weight and height and click the 'Calculate Your BMI' button to get your results within seconds. With New Jersey Bariatric Center®'s BMI calculator, you'll also receive a personalized report with helpful information about bariatric surgery and medical weight loss to consider as well as guidance on your next steps.
