I had been overweight since I was really young. As a child I was always told, “clear your plate and eat your vegetables to grow big and strong”. So I did and it worked. I got bigger than I thought I would. To lose weight I tried Slim Fast and traditional dieting for years. I even tried juicing. I always played sports and tried to remain active, but nothing seemed to be working. For me the turning point was when I attended my first weight loss seminar at New Jersey Bariatric Center and I realized that it IS possible to lose the weight I wanted. Before that moment, I had accepted that I was going to be big for the rest of my life.

I cannot even put into words how much weight loss surgery has helped me. I would’ve never gotten this close to my goal weight without it. The staff and doctors at New Jersey Bariatric Center informed me of my options and helped me decide the best option for my lifestyle. I truly applaud the entire team for the work that they do.

My life has improved in every aspect. I sleep better. I can power walk up the stairs. I can even fit both legs into one leg of the jeans I was wearing before my surgery. My self-esteem has skyrocketed and my activity and home life has improved tremendously. I am happy now and my peace of mind is getting better everyday.
