Update: Telemedicine & In-Office Appointments
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]NJBC continues to take the necessary steps to help limit the spread of the Covid virus to our patients, staff and the communities we serve.
We are continuing telemedicine appointments and offering a limited number of in-person appointments.
To schedule an appointment, call our office at 908-481-1270 or to request a call, click here.
What to Expect During a Telemedicine Appointment
Telemedicine appointments follow the same process as in-person visits except virtually. From the comfort of your home, office or wherever you choose, patients will have a video appointment with an NJBC surgeon, nutritionist or physician's assistant.
Similar to the in-person visit, one of our medical assistants will go over your health information to prepare you for your appointment with the surgeon, nutritionist or physician’s assistant. Once completed, you will begin your telemedicine appointment. You will be able to ask any questions you may have about weight loss surgery, post-operative support and our other services.Â
To ensure the safety of our patients, families and staff, we have implemented the following policies in office:
What to Expect During an In-Office Appointment
Upon arrival, patients are to wait in their car and text their name to 908-380-4178 and indicate that you have arrived for your appointment.Â
An NJBC staff member will return your call to review the COVID-19 exposure questionnaire. Once completed patients will be directed by phone when to enter the office to ensure social distancing
Only one person will be permitted to accompany a patient and only one person is allowed in the elevator area or elevator at a time.Â
All patients and their companions will be required to wear a mask during the duration of their visit and be provided with hand sanitizer when they come in for their appointment. If you do not have a mask we will provide you with one.
Temperature and pulse oximetry will be taken at the door prior to being seated.Â
Seating in the waiting room will be marked to maintain at least 6’ of distance between patients.Â
Patients will be brought as promptly as possible to an exam room to maintain distancing
As a reminder, if you are concerned that you or someone you know has symptoms associated with the coronavirus, please contact your medical doctor who can address your concerns or the NJ Department of Health Coronavirus hotline at 1-800-222-1222. If you do not have a medical doctor, please call us and we will help direct you to an internal medicine professional who can address your concerns.
